Door reinforcement: strengthening what you have
Reinforcement means cladding your current door with steel plating, strengthening the hinges, fitting anti-crowbar profiles and a certified multipoint lock. Advantages: the outer face of the door is preserved — often required by Paris co-ownership rules — and budgets start around €990. It is the ideal solution in a flat when the original door is sound.
The armoured door set: replacing door and frame
An armoured door set replaces the door and frame with a complete unit certified A2P BP1, BP2 or BP3, laboratory-tested as a whole. It is the maximum protection (with sound and heat insulation as a bonus), from €1,890 fitted. It is the way to go when the existing door is worn out, for ground floors, business premises and high-value homes.
